Like many of you, for me naturopathic medicine is not just a career, it is a calling to service to support healing for individuals, communities and the planet. It has been the focus of my professional life since I began studies at
NCNM in the 1970s. There were 5 states licensed when we graduated in 1978 and few people knew what an ND was! We have made incredible strides in the 42 years since then, but the landscape continues to evolve and now we have Covid-19
which has impacted the profession profoundly. My commitment is to utilize my experience (see biosketch) and an innovative and inclusive mindset supporting AANP to help naturopathic medicine to prevail in reaching our goals of...
Initially my career as an ND, beginning in 1980, took a turn toward counseling on the mental/emotional levels which might be creating the physical symptoms and successfully resolving them by dealing with people’s behavior and beliefs.
The naturopathic philosophy of treating the cause is what led me to exploring how people’s relationships and fulfillment issues created their physical symptoms. That evolved into “public practice” of keynotes and trainings. And
the naturopathic philosophy of dealing with cause has always been at the core of my public practice as a speaker, trainer, and author on interpersonal communication, teamwork and conflict resolution...
I am as excited about our medicine and our profession as ever. I feel fortunate for being a part of the formation and function of our amazing AANP team which for 35 years has added greatly to my life’s meaning and purpose. When I graduated
from NCNM/NUNM (1980) we had only 5 states that were licensing ND’s. We have had many significant prior successes and we must continue to re-focus and adjust to the many current challenges. I hope to contribute my experience to
the AANP board process to continue to enhance the practice opportunities of new graduates and mature practices and to help state associations improve their effectiveness...
I am running for a seat on the AANP Board as I would like to contribute to the evolution of our profession. As an AANP Founder, I am impressed with how far we have come since I graduated NCNM in 1986, when only six states licensed
naturopathic doctors. I am impressed with how many places NDs work and the varied, compelling and gratifying careers of many colleagues. I am also keenly aware of the importance of this moment, as our profession is finding its
way within the larger medical ecosystem, with wonderful opportunities as well as the attendant growing pains. It is up to us to decide where we, as a profession, may fit best, where our work can have the broadest impact and I would
like to offer my experience, thoughtfulness and perspective to this effort...
Hello my beautiful naturopathic medical colleagues. I am running for another term on the Board of Directors and would be honored to have your trust and vote. Having spent the last 1 ½ yrs getting my feet wet representing all of you
while co-chairing the global health committee, I am more focused than ever on hunkering down to unify our profession and direct my attention towards advocacy and legislative issues. I feel very passionate about being able to work
on behalf of all people to spread awareness about what naturopathic medicine is and how we can change our current healthcare paradigm. I am dedicated to unifying our profession, doing legislative work, advancing our scope to match
our training, and...
