AANP 2024 Webinar Series

A Good Relationship Gone Bad:
Restoring Health in Gastrointestinal Candidiasis

DESCRIPTION

Candida is a commensal microorganism of the digestive tract of the majority of our patients. Due to common lifestyle factors and certain medications, Candida spp. can become overgrown, leading to a fungal predominant dysbiosis with sometimes severe systemic symptomatology. When present, it is an important piece of the chronic illness puzzle to address.  At times, gastrointestinal candidiasis can be the crux of chronic cases.

Much online information is available and sometimes conflicting regarding dietary approaches to treating Candida overgrowth. Similarly, recommendations for how to address Candida from an antifungal perspective can vary widely. This can be confusing for both patients and clinicians. This presentation will cover straightforward and effective natural medicine strategies for combining diet and targeted supplementation to restore eubiosis and health in patients struggling with GI candida overgrowth.

Beyond only diet and antifungal approaches, Dr. Blake will discuss their general protocol that is grounded in naturopathic philosophy and systems biology, that you can use to gently help your patients move beyond Candida issues, while simultaneously setting the stage to prevent recurrence.

Learning Objectives
