A Naturopathic Doctor's Role in Disaster Medicine

Join Dr. Jen Riegle and Dr. La Deana Jeane of Integrative Healers Action Network to learn what we have to offer as naturopathic doctors during natural disasters. As climate disasters become more frequent and severe throughout the world, naturopathic medical care is needed in our communities. We will discuss common conditions we treat, which modalities we find useful, and special considerations for treating this population.

Learning Objectives

  1. Understand basic trauma informed integrative care during disaster

  2. Discuss the current issues, limitations, and special considerations with Naturopathic Medical Disaster Care throughout the United States

  3. Know the top conditions we commonly treat in first responders, volunteers, and evacuees

  4. Review the therapeutic tools that we have at our disposal to treat disaster related health conditions

Jen Riegle, ND

Dr. Jen Riegle is a licensed Naturopathic Physician with a degree from Bastyr University. She is the owner of Wild Oak Medicine in Santa Rosa, California and the co-founder of Integrative Healers Action Network, an organization that operates to organize a pathway by which practitioners of integrative modalities may volunteer their time during disasters to deliver safe and effective care to those most in need. As IHAN continues to grow, Dr. Riegle enjoys continuing to learn and teach about trauma informed disaster care with integrative modalities.
